The biggest nuisance that awaits many novice writers is the realization that the writer is useless, that his vocabulary is scarce. What to do?

I honestly can come up with good stories, but my vocabulary wishes for the best, but I will add with pride: every day I replenish this supply.
How I did it and do it. At first I took the explanatory dictionary of the Russian language Ozhegova and tried to grow wiser with the help of this dictionary. Reached the letter D and surrendered. In my head a lot has not increased. Although sometimes I still open it. Ozhegov’s dictionary should always be at hand of the writer - it’s like a calculator at the hand of an accountant.
I began to read various authors, and not only authors of short stories, novels and short stories, but also scripts. And in a separate notebook I began to write out words that I know, I understand their meaning, but for some reason I do not use it in my works. I will give an example. My heroes always, when someone called them, “turned” to scream, but it turns out to be more correct to write “turned around”.
Then, catching fire, I began to sort the “new” words in the same notebook according to this principle:
1. Words used in the description of nature, weather, etc.
2. Words used in the description of the area.
3. Crime phrases, jargon, etc.
4. Words used to describe a person’s character.
5. Words used to describe a person (fat, overweight, lip-shaped, sunken cheeks, etc.)
And what have I achieved? Words began to fit in my head, like my relatives.
Just do not stop writing. Write every day. No matter what words. Write! Only in practice, you will gain experience and learn how to apply your new knowledge. Learning is useless without practice.
