Takeoff start
The biography of the future vocalist began in 1974. The girl was born on July 12 in Waddinsven. The family already had one child, an older brother, Sharon.
Parents traveled a lot with their children. Until the age of six, Adele lived in Indonesia. The family managed to change a dozen countries.
Music has always sounded in the house. From four years old, Sharon was fond of her. With fourteen, the girl began her musical career. She went to study at a music college. All fellow students were at least six years older than her. The future soloist soon had to continue her studies among the guys: the two girls who entered with her left the training.
Adele decided that she must overcome the fear of speaking. She began to sing in groups of friends. The girl studied new influences, experimented with the sound of her voice. As a result, excessive shyness disappeared. The girl sang with the blues-rock band "Kashiro".
At a concert, her performance was heard by musician Robert Westerholt. The guitarist liked the singer's singing so much that he decided to get to know her. However, the meeting began by listing all the flaws of the sound.
Frustrated by such a reaction from a professional, the young vocalist thought she was not doing her job. She already worked in a modeling agency. However, the guitarist soon admitted that Sharon fascinated him.
Group creation
Only three weeks passed, and young people began to perform in one group "Paradise Lost", which they created themselves. Prior to the first recording, the band was renamed "Within Temptation".
Adele's vocals were primarily assigned to the sound. Gradually, the team gained popularity in Europe. After 13 years, their music won the top lines of the most prestigious ratings in the world.
The group's creativity seemed unique. It was for sincerity that listeners loved their songs. All compositions were written as the musicians themselves thought and felt, they did not have a multi-million dollar advertising company. Such a takeoff resembled a real miracle.
In 1997, the band's first studio album, Enter, was released. It collected rather gloomy compositions in the style of gothic and doom metal. In many songs, instrumental rather than vocal sound prevailed. In several singles, Robert Westerholt sang growling. This technique was not used in any album in the future: the musicians considered that the trick that became fashionable in their work was unacceptable.
In 1998, the debut mini-disc of musicians appeared on Dynamo Open Air. The band was the headliner of the festival. The recording took place in Utrecht. The author of the remixes was Oscar Holleman. Adele admitted that members of "Within Temptation" did not even consider this idea.
Confession
The fateful became the new studio disc "Mother Earth". Starting from him, the group left the heavy and gloomy style of gothic metal and switched to a more melodic and light symphonic metal. The main compositions were dedicated to Mother Earth, wildlife. According to Sharon, the film “Braveheart” became a source of inspiration for musicians.
The song "Ice Queen" was very successful. Sharon, who worked as a clothing designer, could no longer combine two professions. However, she used her abilities to create costumes for members of "Within Temptation".
The new album "The Silent Force" was released on November 15 in 2004. Three versions were released: standard, basic and premium. The first is packaged in a regular box with an 8-page booklet, the second without a booklet and in a regular box. Additional materials and two bonus tracks were attached to the premium version.
A week passed and the disc became "gold" in Finland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
"Heart of Everything" opened the song "What Have You Done" recorded with vocalist of "Life of Agony" Keith Caputo. In addition to the standard version, a special edition was released with a music video and concert recordings.
In the 2011 disc "The Unforgiving", each song corresponded with a story by Stephen O'Connell. The album itself is conceived in the format of a musical series of comic books. All images of singles are their main characters. A tour of Europe was planned in support of the new album. All disc recordings are unique and in no way similar to the previous songs of the collective.
