Sergey Bobunets became famous primarily as a frontman and a permanent soloist of the rock group "Semantic Hallucinations." But at the moment he performs solo - the group ceased to exist. Despite the great fame and star status, the musician still lives in Yekaterinburg.
Childhood, youth and participation in the SG
Sergei Stanislavovich Bobunets was born in Nizhny Tagil, his birthday is September 1. Two years later, his family moved to Yekaterinburg (then Sverdlovsk). Sergey began to get involved in music at the age of eleven, and soon he managed to graduate from a music school in the class of bass guitar. But the musician did not receive higher education, although he entered the journalism department of USU.
In 1989, Sergey Bobunets, together with three other guys, put together “Meaning Hallucinations”. A year later, the group was accepted into the legendary Sverdlovsk rock club. As a result, the team lasted until January 2017 (the last performance of the group took place as part of the Old New Rock festival on January 13).
Dozens of hits were created by “Meaningful Hallucinations”, including, for example, the famous hit “Forever Young”. In the late nineties, largely due to the fact that director Balabanov included this song in his film "Brother-2", it became familiar to literally everyone in Russia. It is also interesting that “Sense Hallucinations”, although not a pop group, received as many as two statuettes of the “Golden Gramophone”.
Also, in the biography of Sergei Bobunts, in addition to his activities as part of SG, he was a radio presenter and journalist in the Yekaterinburg newspaper. And in 2010, under the governor Alexander Misharin, Bobunets was a member of the regional Public Chamber.
Solo work
After the dissolution of SG, Sergey Stanislavovich traveled a lot around the world, wrote songs and music for films and social videos, gave concerts in the DPR and Syria.
And in the fall of 2017, he presented to the public his mini-album of three tracks “While Angels Are Dancing”. This new product was met mainly positively. In this album, elements of the old aesthetics of “Meaningful Hallucinations” acquired an updated sound. In March 2018, the musician released an already full-fledged solo record - entitled "Normally Everything."
In addition to music, Sergey Bobunets is successfully engaged in business - he is the owner of his restaurant in Yekaterinburg. He also has another interesting hobby - trips on motorcycles, snowmobiles, jet skis.
