Due to the well-known events related to Ukraine, Russia's relations with many Western countries and with the NATO bloc, where the United States plays the leading role, have sharply deteriorated. Of course, since potential adversaries have huge arsenals of thermonuclear weapons that guarantee the destruction of the other side even in the event of a successful first strike, the likelihood of war is negligible. Nevertheless, reality makes us take the potential threat seriously.

Whose army is stronger - Russian or American?
From a formal point of view, the US Army is stronger. The strength of the army depends on so many indicators, among which, of course, the most important is its overall strength and the availability of modern military equipment. In terms of the number of personnel in the US armed forces, they are significantly ahead of Russia. About 1.43 million people are currently serving in the US Army, Air Force, and Navy, and about 0.77 million in the Russian. That is, the advantage of Americans "in people" is almost twofold.
More than 4-fold superiority in a potential adversary and in the air. The Americans have about 13, 700 aircraft and helicopters, while Russia has a total of about 3, 100.
Significantly stronger than the United States and in the naval forces. Although the total number of their warships (about 470) is only about a third higher than the Russian (about 350), the United States has absolute dominance in the class of aircraft carriers.
Even if Russia can build several aircraft carriers over the next few years (and this is an extremely difficult and costly affair), the US advantage in these floating airfields will still be overwhelming.
But in tanks and self-propelled artillery systems, Russia has almost double superiority. Against about 8300 American tanks and self-propelled guns, Russia can set about 15500 of its units.
