Biography
Radik Arslanovich Gareev, that’s exactly what the full name of one of the most famous Bashkir singers sounds like, was born in the small village of Yanaul on March 23, 1956. The boy's family was large. Radik Arslanovich has five siblings and three sisters. But, despite various difficulties, the singer’s parents managed to pay attention to each of the children and develop their talents.

The Gareevs' house often sounded music. Whether it was a Soviet pop music or a folk song in Russian, Tatar or Bashkir, the children, along with their parents, always sang along. So, Radik realized that music is his real vocation.
In 1979, the young man entered the music school without difficulty, graduating from which he continued his studies at the Ufa Institute of Arts.

In the second year, his strong voice, allowing to perform both classical and pop compositions, a bright appearance, incredible performance and the ability to stay on stage were noticed. Radik Gareev was invited to work in the opera house, which became the second home for the singer.
Career and creativity
Radik Gareev loudly declared himself in 1983, when he received the first prize of the 9th International Political Song Festival in Sochi, "Red Carnation."

After the victory, the aspiring singer was invited to work at the Sochi Philharmonic. But he refused. Later, Gareev was offered favorable conditions for cooperation with the best theaters in Moscow. He was also called to work in America.
But Radik Arslanovich invariably chose his native Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater, which he headed in 1990. Thanks to his love and care, the opera house could not only survive the difficult time for the whole country, but also become a real temple of art. Even though there were often empty seats in the hall, it was precisely here that people went in an effort to at least temporarily distance themselves from their problems.
However, in 1994, a change of power took place in the republic. Gareev, like most leaders, was not pleased with the new government. He was very upset by the removal from the leadership of the theater and often became ill.
