Starting position
The collapse of such a huge state as the Soviet Union caused completely unexpected consequences. Part of the population of independent Ukraine expressed a desire to become part of Russia. For some reason, power structures did not heed this desire. One of the initiators of the branch of the Donetsk People's Republic was Andrei Evgenievich Purgin. The leader of the local socio-political movement was born on January 26, 1972 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in the mining town of Maryinka. My father worked as a miner. Mother is a nurse in a local clinic.
The child grew up in a circle of peers who were brought up according to current traditions. The children were taught to respect the elders, not to offend the weak and not to appropriate the stranger. Purgin studied well at school. Actively participated in social events and sports competitions. Andrei's favorite subjects were history and social studies. In 1989, after graduating from school, he decided to get a specialized education at the Department of Automated Control Systems in the famous Donetsk State University.
Social work
In 1994, Purgin completed his studies and received a diploma of higher education. By this time, in the Donbass, the sale of state enterprises to private hands was carried out. Where did the young specialist get the capital to buy a mine or gas station? For several years, Andrew tried to find a decent job. Small businesses just got on their feet and paid their employees pennies. Purgin tried to do business, but "burned out". Watching the events on the streets and participating in them, he recalled the history of his native land - at the beginning of the 20th century, miners created the Donetsk-Kryvyi Rih Soviet Republic here.
When the cities of Ukraine were held under orange banners, Purgin sharply condemned such actions. In 2005, he was one of the initiators of the creation of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). Possessing organizational skills, Andrei held public events at which he explained to his countrymen the meaning of his proposals. Public creativity was not in vain. In the spring of 2014, when the incumbent president of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, was deposed, the contours of the new state formation appeared on the map of the country.
