Pelagia
The group "Pelagia" is a success among connoisseurs of folk music. She performs romances, Russian folk songs and folkloric works by the soloist of the group - a girl who is also called Pelageya. This is her real name. Singer from Novosibirsk, whose talent manifested itself in early childhood, Pelageya won a number of prestigious awards and competitions that promised her a musical career in any vocal genre that she would choose. The girl chose folk rock music and founded her own musical group. She quickly became a star, but, despite this, does not try to behave somehow in a special way starry. Always following her conviction, Pelagia managed to win the true love of the audience.
Kalinov Bridge
"Kalinov Bridge" is a famous group whose Slavic folk orientation was manifested at the very beginning of his career. The soloist and ideological founder of the group Dmitry Revyakin hails from Novosibirsk, but he spent most of his childhood in Transbaikalia. Until now, these places inspire the leader of the Kalinov Bridge more than others. The music performed by this collective is so unusual and original that it is not always possible to “fit” it into the framework of the genre, but nevertheless, critics most often define it as folk rock. You can trace a fairly clear bias towards Cossack songs and Slavic mythology.
There are groups that constantly perform Slavic folk, this is their main genre. But there are many such groups that try to bring any one album closer to folk as an experiment.
Ivan Kupala
A rather unusual musical group, which is inspired by folk Slavic and Russian motifs in electronic processing. A unique feature of “Ivan Kupala” is that the musicians use authentic folklore in their recordings, which was collected in the 70-80s by Soviet folk art lovers. The group deservedly enjoys the great love of the audience, it regularly performs at major festivals and open-airs of the country.
Bugotak
Siberian musical group that plays exclusively ethnic and folk music. In their work, the musicians rely on Siberian folk songs, using not only Slavic motifs, but also East Turkic ones. We must not forget that the peoples of Russia are very different, Russian ancient history is not only Slavs.
Rusichi
Rusichi is a collective playing probably the closest to Slavic music. Musicians restore ancient instruments, study records of ancient Russian music, are also interested in improvisations. Their Muse is pure folklore, which is why fans of their work love it.
The music of the Rusichi ensemble was used in films such as The Quiet Don by S. Bondarchuk and the Siberian Barber N. Mikhalkov.
"Rusichs" are popular not only in their native country, they are listened to all over the world. They perform in folk costumes, during concerts, often playing scenes from the life of the past.
