Biography
Ellen was born into a Catholic family rooted in 1969 on November 10 in Everett. She became the youngest, sixth child in the Pompeo family, and she had asthma. At 4, the future actress experienced a real shock, like everyone else close - her mother Kathleen died of an overdose of pills. Father, a merchant Joseph, was left alone with the children, but soon found a new wife, who became his caring mother.
Ellen was brought up in strict Catholic traditions; church attendance was a must. After graduating from high school, in the early nineties, Ellen got a job as a bartender in a small diner in New York. There, a pretty girl was noticed by an agent and offered to work on television in advertising. Pompeo agreed, and this experience in commercials was very useful for her future career.
Career
In 1996, thanks to the same agent, Pompeo got a small role in the popular television series Law and Order. In 96, the girl starred in a pair of short films and a little-known telenovela, and in 2001, the actress moved to Los Angeles, determined to connect her life with television.
