Even in ancient times, people realized that humanity was vulnerable to the raging elements of nature. This made them seek protection from higher powers. Later, three main teachings about God - Christianity, Islam and Buddhism - spread on Earth. The religions of the past disappear mainly because their adherents go into oblivion, and the new generation seeks truth in other ideas.

It is impossible to say how many religions existed on earth in the whole history of mankind, most of them have been lost, some have been transformed into recognized faiths, and some are considered to be nothing more than a worldview or cult.
Drevlyane
The main endangered religions include the teachings of the Old Believers and Drevlyans. Information about the tribes of the latter ends in the annals dated 1136. The Drevlyans consisted of East Slavic inhabitants and occupied the right bank of Ukraine. The authenticity of the existence of adherents of the religion of drevlyans is confirmed by archaeological excavations. In this area, houses were found that looked more like dugouts, places of sacred action. Drevlyans buried their dead in burial-free graves, burnt corpses, and buried those who were killed or blessed in forests, usually in the roots of large trees. Putting weapons in the grave was not accepted, which indicates the innocence of the tribe.
Drevlyans had special religious cults based on belief in polytheism and the natural beginning of all things.
Religions, such as Drevlyansky, disappear, possibly due to the underdevelopment of the carrier people or, on the contrary, due to the rapid development of consciousness. In the case of the Drevlyans, the process of planting a different belief was more likely observed, because it is known that Princess Olga, after the death of her husband, sent troops to the Drevlyan villages, enslaving the inhabitants. The Drevlyans simply lost their culture and faith, assimilating with the Russians and accepting their religious views.
