Anna German is a singer with a magical, crystal-clear voice and a special dramatic manner of performance. Her life is like an exciting novel in which there were upheavals, victories, fame, personal happiness and, alas, an early and sad end.

Biography and career
Anna's father German Eugen (Eugene) is a German with Dutch roots, whose family settled in Ukraine. With the advent of Soviet power, the family was dispossessed, numerous relatives scattered around the country. Eugen came to the Uzbek SSR, where he met his second wife, Irma Martens, who came from a family of Dutch Protestant Mennonites. Two children were born in the marriage, daughter Anna-Victoria and the youngest son Frederick.
The family, together with Irma's mother, settled in the small town of Urnech. My father worked as an accountant, but he loved music and even composed songs himself. The idyll did not last long - shortly after the birth of his son, Eugen was arrested and after a brief trial, was shot on charges of espionage. The repressed family had to flee, after long journeys, she ended up in Kazakhstan. At this point, the family consisted of only 3 women, Anna's younger brother fell ill and died.
In 1942, Irma German married a Polish officer, but a year later he died. A woman with her daughter and mother moved to her husband’s homeland, to Poland. Anna entered the gymnasium, and after graduating, she went to study as a geologist. However, the future specialty did not particularly attract the girl, she dreamed about the stage and even performed in the student theater as a singer.
After graduation, Anna passed the exams and got the right to perform concerts. Her singing activity began with a mini-tour and very small fees. However, an unusual clear voice - a lyrical soprano with a very rich range - immediately brought her the love of the public. Gradually, the Young singer honed her skills, and in 1963 she was honored to represent the country at the international festival in Sopot. The first prize was 3rd place, but already in the next competition, Anna became a winner, received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and went to Italy to teach vocals. Thanks to victories in international competitions, the young singer was offered a three-year contract with the studio, which she gladly signed.
Anna Herman's career developed rapidly, the producers actively promoted her as a new European star. A victorious procession with concerts, advertising shows and victories in competitions was interrupted by a terrible car accident - during a night move, a sports car with a sleeping driver crashed into a concrete enclosure. Anna received severe injuries and was bedridden for two long years.
After the rehabilitation period, the singer was transported to Poland, where she underwent treatment. Despite the unfavorable forecasts of doctors, she began to get up and walk, and already in 1969 appeared on the scene. Her return was greeted with enthusiasm, the audience did not forget Anna and welcomed her every speech. The singer toured the country and often comes to Moscow, giving concerts and recording numerous records. Each performance gathers full halls, the press calls Anna the most sincere, charming and beloved singer.
The only thing that overshadows these happy years is sharply worsening health. Gradually, old injuries make themselves felt, a woman is tormented by constant pain in her legs. First, she writes off everything to thrombophlebitis, which has aggravated after pregnancy, but after visiting specialists she learns the terrible truth - rapidly developing bone cancer. Despite the worsening state of health, Anna does not stop touring, not wanting to disappoint fans.
For some time, the singer is treated independently, but there is no improvement. Anna goes to the hospital, where she undergoes several operations. However, the forecasts of doctors do not leave hope - the process is irreversible. In 1982, the singer dies - due to a mystical coincidence, death occurs exactly 15 years after a car accident in Italy.
