Paquin Anna is a New Zealand-born actress of Canadian origin who was born on July 24, 1982 and received an Oscar at the age of 11 for her debut supporting role. She is better known to the Russian audience for her work in the X-Men franchise.

Childhood and Oscar
The future famous actress was born into a family of teachers living in the small Canadian town of Winnipeg. Mom taught English, and dad coached school athletes. Anna became the third, youngest child in a friendly family, and soon the Pekuins moved to their mother’s homeland, to New Zealand.
Thanks to her parents, Anna from an early age enthusiastically engaged in creativity and sports. Gymnastics, ballet, dancing, playing three instruments, skiing and learning French are just a few of the activities that the gifted little girl gave all her free time to. True, among them there was no dream of becoming an actress.
In 1993, hearing about the casting for the role of a little girl in the melodrama of a woman directed by Jane Campion, Anna's elder sister Katya immediately decided to take part in it. Anna went with her out of sheer curiosity - and suddenly became the main contender for the role.
Flora, the character of the drama "Piano", is a girl who had to be a "translator" for her dumb mother, explaining to others what the woman wants to say. It was really hard work for an 11-year-old girl, and the whole crew with bated breath watched the incredible play of young Anna, who had no experience and education. The painting received the Golden Palm Branch and three Oscars, one of which went to little Paquin.
Education and career
After a dizzying debut, the girl was vying to invite to various projects, but parents did not want success in the cinema to prevent the formation of their daughter.
In 1994, Paquin went to college, and then her parents broke up, and the actress moved to Los Angeles with her brother, sister and mother, where she continued her education, first at a local independent school, and then passed documents to the University of California. True, the study lasted only a year, Anna still sacrificed a diploma for the sake of an acting career.
In 1996, Paquin starred in the movie "Jane Air", embodying Jane in her childhood, then appeared in the title role in the movie "Fly Home". Anna voiced the full-length animation of the legendary Miyazaki. Since then, every year she appears in several projects at once, many of which are successful.
