Life before the singer’s career
Serdar Ortach was born in Istanbul in February 1970. He received his full secondary education at the Lyceum in Suadiye (this is one of the districts of Istanbul). Then Serdar studied at the vocational lyceum in the direction of "Turning" and at Bilkent University in the department "Culture and Language of the USA". However, shortly after entering the University, Ortach took the documents from him.
Then he tried to become an opera singer in Vienna (Austria), but family circumstances forced him to return to his native country. Here Ortach began to work as a DJ at the Istanbul radio station and in nightclubs and quickly gained popularity in this field.
First Album Release and Imprisonment
In 1994, Serdar Ortach recorded and released the first album - it was called "Ask Icin" ("For the sake of love"). And at the end of the year, he became the best-selling album in Turkey - more than 2 million copies were sold. The second album ("Yaz Yağmuru") appeared in 1996, the third ("Loco Para Amar") - in 1997, the fourth ("Gecelerin Adam") - in 1998.
The year 1999 became difficult enough for Serdar Ortach. This year he was detained and sent to prison. He was suspected of deliberately avoiding military service. He spent 63 days in Mamak prison in Ankara, after which he was still released - the prosecution did not have the necessary evidence.
Creativity of Ortach in the 21st century
In the two thousandth, Ortach continued not only to release his records with enviable stability, but also became famous as a presenter. For three years he had his own television show - "With Serdar Ortach." In 2003, this show was recognized as the best television program of the year.
Interestingly, ten years after the start of his career, in 2004, Ortach was able to repeat his own achievement - his seventh album "Cakra" ("Chakra"), like the first, became the annual sales leader.
In 2005, Ortach’s book entitled “Bu Sarkıllar Kimin Icin?” Appeared in bookstores. ("Who are these songs for?"), Where he published his poems, as well as memories of the past.
Further, the famous singer released a number of rather interesting records - "Mesafe" (2006), "Nefes" (2008), "Kara Kedi" (2010), "Ray" (2012). At this point, Ortach has 15 albums (and the total number of songs composed by Serdar has already exceeded 150). The latest album to date is called "Cımbız" ("Tweezers") - it was recorded in 2017.
It is worth adding that Ortach’s vocals can also be heard on the records of other Turkish artists - Sibel Dzhan, Muazzzez Abaji, Alishan, Ebru Gundes, etc.
