The infamous politician Oleg Lyashko is distinguished by his shocking behavior and radical views. The People’s Deputy of Ukraine received a mandate more than ten years ago, but even today it’s hard to say who he is: a promising politician or an upstart and PR man.
Childhood and youth
The future politician was born in 1972 in Chernihiv. His childhood can hardly be called cloudless. Parents divorced when the child was not even two years old. The difficult life situation did not allow the mother to raise her son on her own and she sent him to an orphanage. Until adulthood Oleg replaced several boarding schools. After graduating from school and technical school, specializing in tractor driving, he began his career biography. To ensure his existence, he used to work as a shepherd.
Journalism
In the 90s, Oleg became interested in journalism. He even made an attempt to enter the faculty of journalism of the university, but did not score the required number of passing points. In the metropolitan publication "Young Guard" he was offered the position of a freelance correspondent. Career quickly went up, the young man soon headed the editorial department and received a Kiev registration. The difficult childhood and journalistic activity brought up perseverance in him, the ability to cope with difficulties and defend his own point of view.
Scandal in the Ministry of Internal Affairs
In 1992, Lyashko became the chief editor of the newspaper "Commercial News". The head of the printed publication of the country's foreign economic department received useful contacts with officials of the highest level. Having received a “pass ticket” to the world of big politics, Oleg was able to get an assistant to the Minister of Internal Affairs Vasilishin. But he was soon arrested and convicted under the article “theft of state property”, as he fraudulently seized several cars from the park of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The amnesty helped, and six months later the convict was free.
In 1996, Lyashko came to the need for higher education and entered the Kharkov Pedagogical Institute. A certified lawyer headed the editorial office of the newspaper "Freedom", famous for its opposition publications.
Politics
In the elections to the Verkhovna Rada in 2006, Oleg Lyashko was nominated by the party of Yulia Tymoshenko. The deputy received the position of the head of the Committee considering professional ethics and parliament. A year later, the people's deputy was entrusted with a place in the budget committee. And in 2010 he was expelled from BYuT. According to the official version - for cooperation with the ruling parties. According to another version - for publicizing old videos with Oleg’s recognition of non-traditional sexual relations with high-ranking officials.
Then the people's deputy’s cooperation with the radicals began, and soon he headed this direction, giving him the name "Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko". In the 2014 election race, the movement proved to be a real political force and received the support of more than 7% of voters. The party was part of the coalition, but a year later Lyashko and his associates went into opposition, refusing to cooperate with the oligarchs.
In 2016, Oleg Valerievich presented a program of action to his parliamentary colleagues and proposed his candidacy for the post of prime minister. In his usual manner, he stepped from the rostrum, accusing the current government of theft and corruption.
