Obraztsova Elena is a world famous opera singer. She was an opera director, she has been teaching for many years. Elena Vasilievna became the organizer of the Cultural Fund. She also created a foundation supporting music art.

Family, early years
Elena Vasilievna was born on July 7, 1939. Her hometown is Leningrad. Elena's father was an engineer. The girl suffered a blockade, in 1943 the family was sent to evacuation in Ustyuzhna (Volgograd region).
After the war, Lena continued to study, singing in the choir of the Palace of Pioneers. In 1954, the family moved to Taganrog, as the father was offered the position of chief designer. In Taganrog they were given an apartment.
After graduating from school, Obraztsova studied at the School of Music. Tchaikovsky. The director of the Rostov School of Music liked her performance. Elena was given recommendations, thanks to which she was taken to the 2nd year of the Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov.
Creative biography
In 1962, Obraztsova won the vocal competition. She first appeared on the BDT stage in 1963; she had an aria in the opera Boris Godunov.
After graduating from the conservatory, Obraztsova worked in the BDT, performed in theaters in Europe, including in the famous "La Scala". Many times she won in various competitions.
In 1975, the BDT had a tour in America, Obraztsova’s performances were very successful. In San Francisco, the singer performed with Sutherland Joan, Pavarotti Luciano. Since 1976, Elena has been invited to sing at the Metropolitan.
Her repertoire included arias in operas written by composers of the 18-20th centuries. She performed songs of various genres, including jazz and pop compositions.
In 1986, Elena Vasilievna was the director of the opera Werther. Obraztsova also had several movie roles.
In the two thousandth she played a dramatic role in the production of "Antonio von Elba". In 2003, Elena Vasilievna performed with the teams of Butman and Berger. In 2007, she became the head of the Mikhailovsky Theater Opera Company.
In 1973, Obraztsova received a teaching position at the conservatory. She later became a professor. Elena Vasilievna also taught at the Tokyo Academy of Music.
In 2006, the singer became the organizer of the Cultural Center, where young performers were engaged. Then she organized a foundation supporting music art. Obraztsova died on January 12, 2015, she was 75. Last year she had leukemia and underwent surgery.
