Stephen Lang is an American tetra and film actor, screenwriter and producer. He began his creative career in 1985, starred in more than one hundred and twenty films and series. For several years he was one of the leaders of the Acting Studio in New York. Viewers know Lang well for his roles in the films Avatar, Tumstone, The Last Turn to Brooklyn, Don't Breathe, Chronicles of the Predatory Cities, and the TV series Terra Nova.

Stephen was born in the USA in the summer of 1952. His father was a successful entrepreneur and became famous for bequeathing his entire fortune, numbering more than one hundred and fifty million dollars, to a charity, thereby leaving his own children without inheritance. The father believed that his children, like himself, should achieve everything in life independently and not count on the help of even their parents.
Stephen has older siblings who have nothing to do with creativity. My sister received a law degree and became a lawyer, and my brother headed one of the financial companies.
Stephen received his primary education at a regular school located in Jamaica. In high school, he was sent to a boarding school in Pennsylvania. After leaving school, Lang went to college, where he received a master's degree in English literature.
Theatrical career
Already during college, Stephen became interested in theater and immediately after graduation decided to try himself as an actor. He got a job in one of the local theaters, where he soon became one of the leading performers. For his role in the play "Speed of Darkness" he received the prestigious Tony Theater Award, followed by many other awards in the field of art.
For several years, Lang worked at the New York Theater Studio. There he taught acting, and then became one of its leaders.
Film career
Lang's biography as a film actor began in 1985. He got a role in the movie "The Death of a Salesman", appearing on the set with famous actors Dustin Hoffman and John Malkovich. The next film, where Stephen played a crime reporter, was called The Manhunter. It is noteworthy that it was in this picture for the first time that the famous character Hannibal Lecter appeared on the screen, who helped the reporter in the investigation of a number of crimes.
On the territory of the country, Lang brought fame to the role in the film "The Last Turn to Brooklyn." It was assumed that the actor will be nominated for an Oscar, but in the end he was not included in the list of applicants.
