Paul Landers (Heiko Paul Hirsch) is a famous guitarist of the German band Rammstein.
Biography
Born December 9, 1964 in East Berlin. There are rumors that the musician was born in Brest, but Landers himself refuted them.
From childhood he had poor health, which contributed to the development of rumors about his prematurity.
His parents studied Slavic languages, therefore, often traveled with little Paul and his older sister in Europe. Children in the Hirsch family studied music, and if Paul’s sister was given a piano, he didn’t. The teacher often scolded the future musician, so he began to learn to play the clarinet.
In addition to musical talent, Paul was given construction. He often made something and even somehow made a lamp that lights up whenever the door to his room opens. Landers also attended the Young Sailors club and inherited the ability to learn languages from his parents: Paul speaks good Russian, thanks to studying at the school at the embassy, and even spent a year in Moscow.
As a teenager, Landers, tired of the constant family dramas with his stepfather, left his parental home in search of himself.
Studied as a telecommunications specialist.
Career
The first experience of playing in the group was in 1983, when, together with Christian “Flake” Lorenz (future keyboardist of Rammstein) and Alesha Rompu, he created the group “Feeling B”, which Christoph “Doom” Schneider (future drummer of Rammstein) also joined. It is noteworthy that "Feeling B" is the first German punk band to release an album at that difficult time. Despite the fact that the album "Hea Hoa Hoa Hea Hea Hea Hoa" was popular and liked by critics, the group was never able to become a cult.
In other matters, the participants themselves were not too serious about work.
In 1994, Feeling B broke up, and three of its members, including Paul, joined Till Lindemann, Richard Kruspe, and Oliver Riedel. So the legendary band "Rammstein" was born.
The guys got the opportunity to professionally sign up for the studio for the first time after the victory of Lindemann, Kruspe, Schneider and Riedel at the Berlin Senate Metro Beat Contest festival.
A little later, the band's first album was recorded - "Herzeleid", released on the label "Motor Records". Longplay marked the beginning of the worldwide popularity of the group.
