The confrontation between the Syrian authorities and the armed opposition has been going on for more than a year, the situation in the country is getting closer to the civil war. The attack on the city of Hula occurred on May 25-26, more than a hundred people were killed. Opposition blames Bashar al-Assad regime for this tragedy. Syrian authorities, in turn, are talking about provocation by militants.

To understand who carried out the executions in Hula, it is necessary to answer the traditional question in such situations - who benefits from this? Since April, in accordance with the plan of Kofi Annan, a truce has been declared in the country, UN observers should monitor its observance. Despite the fact that both sides of the conflict repeatedly violated the ceasefire, the total number of military clashes began to decline. In this situation, the tragedy in Hula happened surprisingly "on time", again adding fuel to the fire. Western countries very quickly and unanimously condemned the Syrian authorities, there were stuffing information about the possibility of a foreign invasion of Syria. Russia's proposal to first find out who carried out the executions in Hula, and then to draw conclusions, were not heard.
The fact that Western countries do not hear the arguments of Russia is understandable. Having embarked on a change of regime of Bashar al-Assad, they are trying to achieve this with all their might. The technology is already well established; Libya has become the latest example of the overthrow of a legitimate government. There are official authorities, there is opposition. An armed confrontation begins between them, and with the help of the media, the western inhabitants form the opinion that the opposition is fighting for freedom and democracy, and the current authorities of the country are cruel oppressors. After public opinion is formed, a new stage begins - a direct invasion of the country. So, in the case of Libya, the country's territory was declared a no-fly zone, under the pretext of this, coalition forces began to methodically destroy military equipment of Muammar Gaddafi. With such support, the opposition was able to quickly seize power in the country, Gaddafi himself was captured and killed.
They are trying to do something similar now in Syria. The complexity of the situation lies in the fact that the country has a fully combat-ready army, capable of crushing any rebellions, while the Assad regime demonstrates its readiness to carry out democratic reforms - in particular, a new constitution was adopted by universal suffrage. According to some reports, Russia delivered S-300 anti-aircraft systems to Syria, which makes it very problematic to establish, according to Libya's example, a no-fly zone. Finally, thanks to UN actions, the intensity of the confrontation began to decline, which is clearly not at hand for those who want to sweep the Assad regime at any cost. It was at that moment that the executions took place in Hula, which again gave the opponents of the Syrian president the opportunity to declare the need to change the current government in the country. There is information that all those executed belonged to several families loyal to the president of the country. Confirmation of this information will further strengthen the likelihood that executions of civilians were carried out by opponents of the current government.
The confrontation between the Syrian authorities and the opposition continues. The tragedy in Hula was not the last - it became known that in the village near the city of Hama, unknown soldiers killed more than a hundred people. Against this background, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia would not allow a decision on a foreign invasion of Syria at the UN. With the right to veto, Russia is able to block any decision on this issue.
