Young people, especially some teenagers, create their own communities of interest that distinguish them from the bulk of the people and, as a result, distinguish them from the crowd. Such communities are informal, and their members are called informals.

1
The term "informals" is officially used as a common name for representatives of certain subcultures and youth movements. Informal people are certain groups of people that arose in the USSR in the 80s in response to "formal" associations (for example, Komsomol organizations). In the mid-80s, various teenage gangs, interest clubs, and neo-Nazi communities (for example, skinheads) began to fall under the concept of “informals”. It is curious that initially the term "informals" had a rather bright expressive coloring and negative meaning. Then, various youth subcultures such as Goths, Emos, Punks, Hippies, Metalworkers, Rockers, etc. did not fall under this concept.
2
Currently, informal is any person who is somehow different from the general mass of people. The fact is that informals demonstrate their commitment to one or another youth movement or subculture with their manner of dressing. It is noted that in most cases, the appearance of the informal absolutely does not correspond to its true interests, but is only a reflection of this hobby, which can pass as quickly as it arose. To further emphasize their attachment to any current or subculture, informals shock not only with their appearance, but also with their behavior.
3
Nevertheless, the appearance for informals is the main indicator of their commitment to a particular trend. Vivid examples are rockers, punks and metallers. The styles of their clothes are close and reminiscent of each other: these are hoodies, and T-shirts with images of favorite musical groups or with symbols. For example, metallers prefer images of wolves and bikes, and punks prefer skulls. In addition, the representatives of these movements are characterized by the everyday wearing of so-called jackets - leather jackets with a huge number of locks. The main lock is located on the right side of the jacket, hence its name.
4
Another distinctive feature of the informal appearance is a leather wristband on his arm, equipped with chains or metal spikes. It is curious that punks are not pretentious to clothes and can wear khaki pants (camouflage). Currently, such informal movements as emo and goth have become widespread. For adherents of these social groups, it is important not to hide their own emotions, naturally reacting both to happiness and joy, so to pain and sadness. The style of their clothes is extremely unusual. In their style of clothing, only two colors adhere to the emo: pink and black, and Goths and even less - only black.
