Every year at the end of summer, Orthodox people celebrate the memory of the myrrh-bearing Mary Magdalene, in another way - the buttocks, the sequence of Jesus Christ. It is on this Orthodox day that almost all berries ripen.

Buttocks Maria Day is celebrated in the old style on July 22, in the new style - on August 4. On this day, one of the most famous women in religion is remembered - Mary Magdalene. At the same time, relations between the Orthodox and the Catholic Church are significantly different - Orthodox people identify Mary with the myrrh-bearing woman, Catholics - with the repentant harlot.
The name of Mary Magdalene is mentioned very little in the New Testament. It is only known that Jesus Christ cured her whole family of demon possession, after which the buttock followed Christ, began to serve him faithfully. Mary personally attended Calvary during the execution of Jesus, a little later she became one of the myrrh-bearing women who cajoled his body. It was Magdalene who saw Jesus in resurrection and informed the apostles about the miracle that had happened.
There is an opinion that Mary Magdalene in Rome preached Christianity, thereby helping John the Theologian. The saint died at Ephesus, and her death was peaceful. Mary is revered in Orthodoxy as an equally apostolic holy woman.
On this day, it was customary in Russia to go to the forest for berries - red and black currants, as well as blueberries. Mistresses began to harvest them for the winter - cooked stewed fruit and preserves. That is why Mary was called the Sweetwoman and the Buttock. It was not allowed to work in the field, because on that day there was a great risk of suffering from lightning. But at the same time, a thunderstorm on the day of remembrance foreshadowed good events; it was believed that if rain poured on Magdalene and a thunder thundered, there would be hay behind his eyes.
They turned on the day of Mary how dew would fall abundantly. If the whole field was damp in the morning, they expected gray flax. According to the legend, dew on Magdalene destroys the natural whiteness of flax, and also stops its active growth. However, the droplets on the grass that day had miraculous properties: women washed their face with dew and believed that it would give the face a purity and whiteness.
