Corey Cooper is one of the brightest representatives of American alternative rock. She is a member of the popular group Skillet, which was created by her husband John. In the collective, Corey is responsible for keyboards, rhythm guitar and backing vocals.
Biography: early years
Korin Marine Cooper, nee Pinguitor, was born July 21, 1972 in the town of Kenosha, in the northern United States. Grew up in a religious family. Father was a pastor in a local church.
As a child, Corey decided to get a musical education. At school, she listened for hours to the records of Sarah MacLachan, U2. This left an imprint on her further musical career.
After school, Corey began playing keyboards in the local band Alkeme, whose repertoire consisted of Christian rock songs. She also included her sister. The team often performed at various venues in their native Kenosha. The group also toured other cities in Wisconsin.
Career
