Every year, Silver Rain Radio searches for the most “dubious” ideas and achievements of the year among Russian celebrities. “Silver galosh” began with awards for “Plagiarism of the Year”. This nomination remained unchanged until the ceremony held in 2012. But every year the award is increasingly moving to political footing, and on the 16th Kalosha all the awards went to politicians, journalists, and various public figures.
In 2012, eight people became winners.
"Hands on the elbow in miracles"
Vladimir Gundyaev, better known to the Russians as Patriarch Kirill, won this nomination. The prize was awarded to him for the "immaculate disappearance of watches." The press service of the patriarch published a photo in which the bishop’s expensive watch is visible in the reflection of the table, while there are none on his hand. It turned out later that they worked on the clock in Photoshop.

Well-known politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky received a “galosh” for the campaign clip in which he beats a donkey with a whip.

In this nomination Kristina Potupchik, spokeswoman for the Nashi social movement, excelled. She is known for the incident with hacked e-mail - her and the leader of "Rosmolodezh" Vasily Yakimenko, as well as for activity on the Internet. The Potupchik got his “galosh” for “Full ZheZhe”.

Political analyst Sergei Kurginyan noted here. He was remembered by the public for his soulful speech on December 4 at a pro-Kremlin rally.
In the nomination "Soft press or In the morning in the newspaper, in the evening in the toilet" the namesakes of Vladimir and Arkady Mamontov were noted. The first, a journalist and an influential media manager, released an appendix to Arguments and Facts called God forbid. It criticized opposition protests and the For Fair Elections movement. The second Mamontov, Arkady, received a “galosh” for a series of journalistic investigations.
For the Petersburg deputy Vitaly Milonov established the nomination "Egegei, gay bang!". The prize went to him for introducing a new law on the prohibition of the promotion of homosexuality among minors, which was approved in St. Petersburg and then in some other regions.
Dushanbe resident Tolibjon Kurbanhanov sang the song "GDP", which he dedicated to Putin, and shot a video on it. For this opus he was awarded the "Silver galosh" in the nomination "Deep Throat".
