Lady Gaga is named Forbes magazine the richest singer and one of the most influential women on the planet. The circulation of her three studio albums, singles and mini-albums amounted to about 100 million copies. Moreover, she is the only performer whose first two singles dispersed in an amount of over 5 million copies.
Lady Gaga recently announced that in 2013 she will release a new album. Fans of the singer learned about this from her microblog on Twitter and the social network Little Monsters. The release date of the disc was not announced, but she clarified that, most likely, the release will take place in the spring.
The album is called Artpop. Perhaps it is an acronym for the expression "Artistic Revolution Through the Potential of Pop", which is written on the wall of the page of the star on Little Monsters. And even before the announcement of the release of the album on Twitter, the girl posted a photo of her new tattoo in the form of the inscription ARTPOP on her forearm, commenting with the phrase "New album, new ink."
As for the content of the upcoming record, the singer admitted that the new material will not be as mature and saturated with a sense of responsibility as Born This Way. It is known that the guitarist of the rock band Whitesnake Doug Eldrich took part in the recording of the disc, and DJ White Shadow is engaged in the production. The piano ballad Princess Die has already been prepared, but the performer has not yet decided whether this song will be included in the new album or will only sound at concerts. They suggest that the first single from the new album may be the song Nothing On (But Radio). There is already a video on the Internet in which Lady Gaga plays this song for her fans. According to the reviews of those who heard, it was written in the style of heavy dance music, which, however, can be said about the whole work of the singer.
In the meantime, the public is speculating about the upcoming album, Lady Gaga is busy with other projects. In the near future, she will present her perfume under the name Fame, and in the fall she will make her film debut in Robert Rordriguez’s film “Machete Kills”. In addition, her tour of Born This Way continues, in which the pop diva will visit Russia for the first time in December 2012.
