One of the most prestigious international film festivals is held annually in the French resort city of Cannes, located on the Mediterranean coast. It was first held in 1946 and since then, every year at the end of May, it gathers the world elite of cinema - actors, directors, critics, the press and film critics - for its views. Participation in the competition program of this festival is already prestigious and honorable in itself.
