Smoking inflicts a devastating blow to people's health, harms the defense ability, ecology and economy of any state. And the World Health Organization rated Russia as one of the most smoking countries in the world. The government has taken measures against smoking.

Since 2001, President of the Russian Federation VV Putin signed the law "On the restriction of tobacco smoking." Its main provisions are to reduce the content of nicotine and resins in the production of tobacco products.
And each package of cigarettes should contain a warning sign about the dangers of smoking and information about the exact content of harmful substances in cigarettes. It is forbidden to sell cigarettes individually and less than 20 pieces, as well as using automatic machines.
It is forbidden to conduct retail trade in tobacco products in cultural, educational, public health, and government organizations. You can’t sell them to minor children. Cigarettes can be sold at a distance of at least 100 meters from organizations.
The federal executive bodies are obliged to propagate through the media the harm of smoking, including passive smoking. It is forbidden to use girls with cigarettes on billboards. Gradually, it is planned to completely abandon smoking advertising in general.
Education programs in general and vocational institutions should contain anti-smoking sections in which schoolchildren and students will study the harmful effects of smoking on the human body. Demonstration of the process of smoking cigarettes in new films, performances is not allowed, unless it is really impossible to do without it in order to correspond to the artistic design.
Since 2008, smoking in public places is prohibited. Smoking is not allowed in the premises of institutions, as well as in suburban and public transport. On airplanes, smoking is prohibited if the duration of the flight is less than three hours. This is considered an administrative violation for which fines are provided. Each office should have a designated smoking area.
