Compare the pre-war and post-war political maps. Pay particular attention to Europe. You will see that after the war, new states appeared - in particular, Germany was divided into Germany and the GDR. Divided into two parts and Berlin. East Berlin was the capital of the German Democratic Republic, West - in fact, a separate state.
2
The biggest changes have affected Germany. The Nazi party was banned. In addition, many Germans who lived in different countries of Eastern Europe returned to their historical homeland. One of the reasons was the ethnic conflicts that arose during the war. The returnees were forced to adapt to unusual conditions for them.
3
As a result of World War II, the alignment of forces in Europe changed. In Eastern European countries, under the influence of the Soviet Union, coups d'etat took place, communist parties close to them in ideology came to power. Soon after the war, these countries formed a defensive bloc, which was called the Warsaw Pact. The international authority of the Soviet Union increased.
4
Some countries have undergone territorial changes. So, the Soviet Union as a contribution received a piece of Pomerania - Koenigsberg with its adjacent coast. This territory was transformed into the Kaliningrad region and annexed to the RSFSR. Part of the disputed territories was Poland - Pomerania with large ports of Gdansk and Szczecin. The first before the war had the status of a free city, the second was part of Germany. Territorial changes have occurred in other states. The most important outcome of World War II is the signing of an agreement on borders and on their inviolability. This agreement is valid to this day.
5
There have been changes in the economy. Europe was divided into two camps with different economic systems. Western Europe returned to the bourgeois system, in the countries of Eastern Europe the socialist mode of production with a high share of the public sector became the main one. A multi-layered economy has developed successfully in some countries.
6
After the war, the nature of labor migration became different. For citizens of Eastern European countries, the ability to move in search of unskilled jobs has been significantly reduced. Labor migration took on the character of "brain buying out" when Eastern European countries were mostly left by educated people in demand in Western Europe and the USA.
