Instruction manual
1
Mark the places on the boat that need to be repaired. To do this, inflate the boat and place it in the water, you will see where it poisons, along the threads of the bubbles. Mark these places with a marker or electrical tape.
2
Make patches. To do this, use ready-made kits sold in stores. If such a repair kit is not available, it can be used for patches of the boot of children's rubber boots. The main thing is that the thickness of the patch matches the material of which the boat is made. Cut the patch so large that it covers the hole at least 3 centimeters on each side. Round the outline of the flap, this will prevent the edges from lagging behind the surface of the boat.
3
Work on the boat the area where the patch will be located, using fine sandpaper. Carefully sand the inside of the patch, this will increase the level of adhesion of the surface to the glue. Attach patches to the surface of the boat, circle it. Make sure that the hole is exactly in the center of the drawn contour. This will allow you to correctly place the patch when sticking.
4
Degrease the surface in the place of holes or cracks with acetone or gasoline. Apply glue to the surface of the boat in the bonding area. Use special glue for rubber products, such as 88HT. Leave on for 20 minutes, repeat the operation. Do not smear the surface of the patches. Apply a patch to the damaged area, until the second layer of glue has dried, carefully press down. Move the flap of rubber so that air bubbles come out from under it. Put a cloth or cardboard on the patch, press down with a press. Follow the conditions of the adhesive instructions regarding the drying time.
5
Use nylon threads to darn large cracks and holes. Place the damaged part of the boat on a flat surface, carefully lay the seams, grabbing the edges of the gap. Do not overtighten the thread and do not allow the edges to overlap. Degrease the surface and glue the patch.
