Perhaps every Orthodox believer keeps in his house a supply of holy water, which, according to religious traditions, has unlimited healing power. At the same time, its effect increases in proportion to the faith of the parishioner. The Orthodox Church has a positive attitude to daily washing with holy water, but does not force believers to do this. Meanwhile, the life of a true Orthodox parishioner is not complete without this pleasant and soulful ritual.

Instruction manual
1
Wash with soap and water. It is necessary to thoroughly cleanse the skin from impurities and residues of cosmetics. According to religious doctrine, contact with holy water and other attributes of a cult should be carried out only on a clean body. That is why it is impossible to attach to the icons with painted lips, and during baptism, women should not apply makeup to the face.
2
Pour a small amount of warm tap water into the bowl. This water will become the basis for ablution. Add a small amount of holy water. According to religious doctrine, holy water added to any amount of ordinary liquid turns it into baptismal water. Oddly enough, but from the point of view of physics, this phenomenon is confirmed - the molecular structure of tap water changes after adding a small amount of saint.
3
Take a clean sponge. It should only be used for ablution. After the sponge becomes obsolete and deteriorates, it should be burned. The sponge should be dipped in a bowl and squeezed a little. Swipe your face and neck with a sponge, pushing with every movement. At the same time, water should drain from the face with jets, which are not recommended to be wiped. During this procedure, it will not be amiss to put in order thoughts, read the morning prayer and turn to God.
4
Moisten your fingers in a bowl with a mixture of holy and tap water and sprinkle your forehead, temples, crown and back of the head. It is also believed to moisten the eyes with water. There is an opinion that such a procedure produces a healing effect. For diseases of various parts of the body, bruises and skin diseases, the part of the body that requires treatment can be included in the daily bathing procedure.
5
Sprinkle your face with water from a bowl three times, saying to yourself: "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen." Moisten your face with a clean towel and let your skin dry naturally. Dry skin is not recommended.
