Characteristics signed by neighbors, or characteristics from the place of residence may be required in court or as an appendix to a request for parole from places of detention. It can be requested by lawyers to consider requests for custody or adoption of a minor child.

The characteristic is written in any form and signed by those neighbors who express a desire to do so. Since everyone who signs it should be listed in the characteristics text, go around your neighbors in advance. Agree with them, you can verbally, the text of the characteristics, enlist their consent and ask for information about surnames, names and patronymics, their exact passport data and information about addresses of residence. The more signatures you can collect, the better.

When drawing up characteristics from the place of residence, follow the general rules for drawing up characteristics. In the heading, indicate the type of characteristic and to whom it is provided with a full indication of the surname, name and patronymic, as well as the address of residence.

In the questionnaire, indicate the year and place of birth of the person, his place of work and the position that he held. Indicate from what time the given citizen lives at the indicated address and describe the composition of his family. The list must indicate all who live with him, the degree of their relationship, the age of children under the age of majority.

The main text of the characteristic, start with the words: “According to the testimony of neighbors:” and list the list of those who have indicated a desire to sign this characteristic. In the list, in addition to the last name, first name and patronymic, indicate passport details and address of residence.

List the complaints of the neighbors, if any, otherwise, be sure to note their absence. Tell us about the established relationship, reflect the facts of alcohol or drug abuse, violations of hostel standards. Do not forget to list the facts of socially useful activities, participation in the improvement of the common areas, assistance to neighbors. Describe in detail all the positive aspects that have taken place.

Print out the description and collect the signatures of all the persons that you indicated in it. It must be certified by the seal of the partnership of homeowners or housing office responsible for the maintenance of your territory. The attesting signature and seal must be affixed by the district inspector.
Useful advice
Do not refuse to provide your signature on such a feature if you agree with its content. Show your human and civil position, because this document can affect the fate of a person living in the neighborhood with you.
