In verbal communication (communication using words), it is sometimes difficult for us to understand whether our interlocutors are lying or telling the truth.
Therefore, in order to recognize a lie, we pay attention to various non-verbal factors - that is, we try to understand whether a person is lying or telling the truth, according to his facial expressions, gestures, behavior. Very often a person’s behavior speaks much more about him than he wants to say. To begin with, you should pay attention to gestures - the first signal that you are told a lie is usually the touch of the speaker on his own face. Gestures should also be alarming, such as covering the mouth with your hand (the thumb can be pressed to the cheek at this time), as well as touching the nose. But you must remember that many people involuntarily use the same gesture when they understand in a conversation that they are lying. Another sign of lying is touching the eyelids. Men rub their upper or lower eyelids more often, and women pretend to correct makeup by running their fingers under their eyes. If a person looks away during a conversation, he can make it clear that he is "lying in a big way." By the way, women usually look away at the ceiling, and men - at the floor. You can recognize the lie by frequent touching the neck or pulling the collar. Usually, in this case, the person touches the earlobe or the side of the neck with his hands (thereby he subconsciously hints to the interlocutor that he is currently acting insincerely). The delay in the collar testifies not only to the insincerity of a person, but also to what he begins to suspect: they can reveal his deception. If at this moment you ask him about the subject of conversation or ask for clarification of what is at stake, your interlocutor will probably be angry or even more nervous. If a person touches his mouth with his fingers, this may also indicate that he is not completely honest with you. Such a gesture is used by insecure people who are forced to lie, but actually do not really like to do it. It is quite easy to convince such a person of lies - he will certainly give himself out during a conversation, you should just take a closer look at his facial expressions and gestures.
