From May 30 to May 31, the 4th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions was held in Astana. This event was united by one main theme "Peace and harmony as a choice of mankind". In total, the event was attended by 87 honored guests from 40 countries, among which was His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
According to information published on the official website of the congress, the main idea of the event was to lay the foundation for creating and strengthening the world order in the 21st century. One way or another, this was discussed in several sections during the meeting.
The leaders of different religions were called on one of them, their contribution to the development of culture was discussed, as well as in the resolution of inter-religious contradictions and a number of other conflicts in the modern world. In addition, at the first sectional meeting, a proposal was repeatedly voiced for further cooperation of the audience, the purpose of which would be the sustainable development of civilization within the framework of the "man-society-nature" formula.
Then the need for multiculturalism was discussed, which, according to the leaders of world religions, is very important in modern civilization, because it helps to create a harmonious society based on cultural differences. This meeting examined not only issues related to the establishment of multiculturalism - the parallel existence of cultures in society, but also possible problems that may arise in case of failure.
A separate section deserved the role of women in the cultivation of family values and the education of children in love of religion. According to the participants of the congress, this topic is of immediate relevance in the face of the fuzziness and partial loss of some ethical standards in the modern world. The seriousness and necessity of discussing such a topic is evidenced by the fact that among the main issues of this sectional session was the following: “Responsibility of a woman for the future of a nation, planet”
Touching upon the problems of the future, leaders of world religions also noted the problem of educating young people, which for centuries has been an opponent of conservatism and progressive intellectual power. The meeting participants agreed on helping young people choose the true faith, rather than worship false ideals. They paid special attention to fostering mutual respect in society and the fight against terrorism among young people.
