For many years, the best songs of the Eurovision Song Contest were determined by a professional jury. But recently, viewers can vote for their favorite composition.
Instruction manual
1
Since 2007, the Eurovision Song Contest has been held for 3 days during one of the May weeks: 1 semi-final on Tuesday, 2 semi-final on Thursday and the final on Saturday. The countries participating in the European Broadcasting Union participate in the semi-finals, with the exception of the last year’s winner country, as well as the so-called “Big Five”: Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy and France, which are the founders and sponsors of the competition and get into the final automatically.
2
You can vote for participants both in the semi-final and in the final. At each stage of the competition, spectators are given the right to cast their vote up to 20 times, and it does not matter to one of the performers or several. But keep in mind that according to the rules of Eurovision you can’t vote for the representative of your country.
3
Do not forget that Eurovision is a competition of songs, and not of individual artists or participating countries, so try to objectively evaluate the musical properties of the composition.
4
When playing a song that you like, pay attention to the serial number of the contestant: usually he is indicated with the name of the country in the lower left corner of the television screen. Remember or write it down.
5
Viewers voting will begin at the end of the last song of the contest. Leading will start to its beginning and announce the end, so carefully monitor the broadcast.
6
You can cast your vote for your favorite song using SMS or a phone call to numbers that will be displayed on the screen and voiced by the contest leaders. Send a text message with the serial number of the participant who won your sympathies, or call the phone number, the last 2 digits of which correspond to the number of the contestant you have chosen.
7
Keep in mind that voting via SMS or phone call is charged as a paid information service. The cost of each of them will be indicated in the televoting window, but you can focus on the prices of the last few years, which amounted to approximately 40-45 rubles per message or call. Make sure you have a sufficient amount on your phone balance.
