The Moscow metro is more than just transportation. Almost any visitor has to deal with him. In order not to get lost, on time to reach your destination, you need to follow a few simple recommendations.
Instruction manual
1
Before you go down the subway, you need to decide where exactly you need to get. In most cases, you just need to know the name of the station. You can find the metro scheme on the Internet, immediately before entering the metro, or you can install a special application on your smartphone.
2
If you are already standing in front of the subway and cannot use your smartphone or computer, do not be discouraged. On a large diagram in the metro itself, you will always find a mark showing exactly where you are. Next, you need to find the station you are looking for and look at the diagram of how you can get to it. All metro lines are marked in different colors, which makes it easier to navigate on the map. See which line you are on, and which line your destination is on, find where they intersect. In some cases, you will need one or two transplants. Remember the names of the corresponding stations.
3
To go down the subway, you need to buy a card for travel. This can be done at the box office or in special machines. If you intend to use the metro only once, you can buy a card for one or two trips at the ticket office, if your plans include the regular use of this transport, use the machine and purchase a rechargeable Troika card, in the future you can replenish it from the card or cash through the same machines.
4
To go through the turnstiles, you need to press the card to a noticeable bright mark on them and go to the left. After that, you can go directly to the train platform. At shallow stations this will have to be done along the usual stairs; at deep stations, an escalator serves. You need to stand on it on the right, leaving a passage on the left for hurrying passengers.
5
Once on the platform, do not freeze near the exit from the escalator, this interferes with the movement of other people. Navigating the subway is quite simple, in front of each platform there is an information board indicating all the stations that can be reached from here. All interchange nodes are indicated there, among which you need to find the one you need.
6
Do not be afraid to drive your station, the following stations are loudly announced on subway trains, so you just have to listen to such announcements. When you get to the transfer station, get out of the train car and pay attention to the information boards located above the platform, it is most often indicated on which side the passage you need is located. Quite often, a transfer from station to station is carried out by stairs in the center of the platform.
7
After moving to another station, again examine the shields opposite the platforms to head in the right direction. If you have passed the station, do not worry, get out of the train, cross the platform and drive back.
