Get a permanent residence permit if:
- you have immediate relatives in Norway with the aim of family reunion (wife with husband or parents with children);
- one of the parents at the time of your birth was a citizen of Norway;
- You are an employee of a Norwegian shipping company and work on board a vessel registered in the Norwegian Ship Register for at least four of the last six years before applying.

Get a temporary residence permit for up to two years if you:
- student and study in Norway (for the period of study);
- athlete (for sports);
- Researcher invited by a scientific or educational institution;
- a professional creative worker.

Get a temporary residence permit for a period of 9 months if your children live in Norway permanently. This clause does not apply to students' parents, as foreign students have a temporary residence permit in Norway.

All documents must be provided in duplicate. It is necessary to translate Russian-language documents into English or Norwegian by contacting an officially registered translator. The translation is notarized.

A residence permit must be obtained before entering Norway. To do this, you must submit documents in at least 2 months.
