Russian passport is the main document proving the identity of a citizen in the country. If you are already a citizen of the Russian Federation, obtaining a passport will not take much effort and time. However, those who do not have Russian citizenship will have to collect a more impressive package of documents.

Instruction manual
1
It is easy for a Russian to get an internal passport. Upon reaching 14, 20, and then 45 years, as well as when changing the surname, name, gender and other personal data, you need to write a statement, provide photos of the established sample, bring the old passport (if this is not your first receipt of the main document) and documents, on the basis of which personal data are changed (for example, marriage certificate). Do not forget to pay the state fee and provide the FMS employee with a receipt.
2
If you lose your passport, the procedure for obtaining the main document becomes a little more complicated. You will need to write a statement about the loss of a passport in the name of the head of the territorial division of the FMS, as well as a standard application for the manufacture of a passport. Pay a fine that is larger than the standard state duty in size, and provide documents confirming your registration at the place of residence, status of a military person, presence of a spouse, children, as well as personal photos.
3
If you are a foreign citizen or stateless person, contact the Department of the FMS for a temporary residence permit. By registering at the place of stay (that is, having issued the so-called "temporary registration"), you can legally live and work in Russia. Five years later, you will be able to apply for a residence permit, and then citizenship of the Russian Federation. You can get a Russian passport only on the basis of the citizenship of this state.
4
A simplified procedure for obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation is provided for persons: - married to a citizen of the Russian Federation for at least three years;
- having a child who is a citizen of the Russian Federation;
- who served under the contract in the armed forces of the Russian Federation;
- citizens born on the territory of the RSFSR, now living in the republics of the former USSR. For all these categories of people there is a general requirement: a document is required confirming their knowledge of the Russian language.
