Instruction manual
1
Seek personal advice on obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation at the consular service of Russia in Moldova or at the regional representative office of the Federal Migration Service of Russia at your place of residence to find out the specific procedure for registration and the time frame for you and your family members to receive Russian citizenship. Since obtaining Russian citizenship by a Moldovan citizen is possible both on a general basis (you will have to first obtain a residence permit and stay in the Russian Federation for at least 5 years), and in a simplified manner. For example, when you marry a citizen of the Russian Federation, you will only have to live in Russia for 3 years, and in some cases a preliminary residence permit and stay in the Russian Federation are not required at all.
2
Get from the official of the consular service or the FMS of Russia a specific list of the documents you need. Remember where and how to get and fill them out. And also take a receipt for the payment of state duty (2000 rubles) and two application forms for obtaining Russian citizenship. Collect all the necessary documents, according to the list received, and submit them and the completed application for citizenship to the FMS or the consular service. Or apply for a residence permit in the Russian Federation in order to submit the documents required for obtaining Russian citizenship after 5 years of continuous residence in Russia (if the legislation of the Russian Federation does not undergo significant changes during this time).
3
Wait until the official of the FMS or the consular service checks the package of documents that you provided for availability and authenticity. If all the documents have been collected and submitted correctly, your application will be accepted and registered, and you will receive a certificate of acceptance of documents on your hands, which will indicate the registration number, date of receipt of the application, full name official and contact details.
4
Wait until the documents submitted by you pass all the necessary checks first by the territorial bodies of the FMS of Russia, and then by the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation itself. In case of any violations in the design of materials, the documents will be returned for adjustment or you will be denied citizenship.
5
Receive notification of the issuance of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on admission to citizenship. The notification must be received no later than one month after the date of publication of this decree. Based on this notice, get a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation.
note
Obtaining Russian citizenship is possible only on condition of renouncing the current citizenship of Moldova.
