In Christianity, from ancient times, there is a tradition of prayer for the living and the dead. Every Orthodox person always has the opportunity to join this church prayer in the church. Just for this purpose, a so-called note (or notes) is served in the church for the liturgical commemoration of the living and the dead. But in order to do everything right, the following church requirements must be taken into account.

Instruction manual
1
Filing notes on the remembrance of the living and the dead is in the evening service, or if for some reason it fails, early in the morning, before the service.
2
In order to visit a temple or chapel, you need to bring yourself in accordance with the temple dress code, i.e. to dress appropriately: in particular, it is considered indecent to enter the temple in shorts or short skirts, dresses or T-shirts with sleeves that do not cover the shoulders. Also, do not go to church in a state of drinking or in a dirty form.
3
Before entering the church, a man is obliged to remove his headdress, and a woman - to put something on his head. In some monasteries, women and girls in trousers are also often not welcome. However, to cover the legs and waist there are issued large pieces of fabric or simple skirts. But they will not always be, to put it mildly, combined with your image and clothes. So the ideal option is to have a suitable look already before visiting a temple or monastery.
4
Upon entering the temple, cross yourself and bow towards the altar (you can do this three times). Then go to the candle box or bookstore. Usually there, on the table, is a pile of funeral “forms” (or simply leaflets) and writing instruments, but just in case, have one and the other with you. You need to write the names of those for whom you want to file a note or notes. At the same time, living people are entered in a note labeled "For Health", dead people - in a note with the inscription "For Peace" (if you use ordinary clean leaves, then in the above, before the names, you must draw these inscriptions yourself).
5
In some temples all the names from the notes are pronounced, in some (especially on big holidays and on Sundays, when there are extremely many notes), not all. However, in this regard, there is no need to worry much, because notes with names are still read. And for the people about whom you submitted notes for commemoration at the proskimid, particles are removed from the prosphora used for the Sacrament of Communion, the most important sacred action of the Christian church. So on the part of the clergy, the liturgical recollection of those whose names you entered in the notes will be fully completed.
6
Simultaneously with the filing of notes, it is possible and even very welcome to purchase several candles. One or two of them can be put in candlesticks in the middle of the temple, in front of the icon of the holiday and / or saint, which is remembered on this day. In addition, you can put candles in front of the icons of saints, whose names are you and your family and friends. It is most convenient to do this before or after the service.
7
Having submitted a note, it makes sense to stay at the Liturgy (morning service) and pray in the service, as long as there is enough strength and time. In the end, the most effective in life are prayers, inner uneasiness, care and love of the closest people to each other. And this, according to Christian beliefs, in particular, can be realized both in liturgical and in personal prayer for your loved ones - both the living and the dead.
