1
Moving to Lithuania is one of the ways to get the opportunity to constantly live and move visa-free in the Schengen area. In addition, Lithuania has a pleasant maritime climate, softer than the Baltic zones of the Russian Federation, a fairly stable economy based on ties with Western Europe. Of the obvious disadvantages: difficult to learn language, low living standards compared to other European countries. There are several ways to obtain a residence permit in Lithuania.
2
The first and most often proposed method: opening your own company. There are two main types of private enterprise: ZAO and IP. Opening a closed joint-stock company, it is necessary to pay taxes on each employee and have a registered capital of at least 3000 euros. If a company is needed only to obtain a residence permit, a closed joint-stock company is a more convenient form than individual entrepreneurship. Opening an IP is less costly, but involves real work activity with which taxes will be deducted in favor of the state.
3
In addition to papers for opening a company, to apply for a residence permit in Lithuania, you need: medical insurance for a year, a lease or purchase of real estate, and documents from a notary. After 5 years of living in Lithuania with a temporary residence permit, you can apply for permanent residence, and after 10 years of citizenship. The basis for obtaining permanent residence status is passing an exam for knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania and knowledge of the Lithuanian language.
4
There are other ways to move to Lithuania. First: by right of blood. In the presence of deceased or living relatives who had Lithuanian roots, any citizen of Russia can apply for naturalization. At the same time, you must have the passports of these relatives, their documents on training or military service, that is, documentary evidence of your kinship.
5
A fairly simple way to obtain permanent residence status, as well as Lithuanian citizenship, is to marry a citizen or citizen of the country. The term for obtaining citizenship is reduced from 10 to 5 years. Children of immigrants receive permanent residence citizenship automatically, regardless of the status of their parents.
6
You can also move to Lithuania to study at a university. In order to receive the relevant documents and residence permit, it will be necessary to collect a package of documents from the educational institution, bank statements confirming the availability of funds to pay for tuition and accommodation. Education at Lithuanian universities is in English and Lithuanian, so you need to know one of them.
note
Obtaining permanent residence and citizenship without knowledge of the Lithuanian language is virtually impossible.
