Instruction manual
1
All correspondence with authorities in the Russian Federation is conducted in Russian, therefore, a letter to the mayor must be written in Russian.
2
Recently, the Internetization of government bodies, set by the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, has been actively developing, in connection with which residents of many cities have the opportunity to send a letter to the mayor from the site of the city administration using a special form. If you contact the mayor through such an electronic form, indicate your name, e-mail address and telephone number, fill in other required fields, type the question you are interested in in the corresponding field of the form. A letter written in this way is sent to a special electronic mailbox registered in the name of the mayor. The appeals are processed by the administration and submitted to the mayor. The reply to the letter is sent in electronic form to the email address you specified.
3
If you send the letter in the old fashioned way on paper, it is preferable to print the text rather than write it by hand: the features of handwriting can make it difficult to read your letter. Indicate your last name, first name, middle name, address and contact phone number in the "header" of the document.
4
A sign of good taste will be an appeal to the head of the city by name, for example, "Dear Ivan Ivanovich!" This treatment is located in the center of the sheet below the "header" and precedes the main text. Next, clearly and concisely state the substance of your question or complaint. Complete the letter with your signature and affixing the current date.
5
If you want to accompany your letter with any documents, attach them in copies, the originals may be lost, and returning them later will be problematic: all applications together with the letter will be filed by the clerk and archived.
6
You can give a letter to the mayor personally, through his reception, or by registered mail with a notification and a description of the attachment. In any case, leave yourself a photocopy of the letter. Upon personal delivery, the mayor’s secretary must make a note on the copy of the acceptance of the letter. When sending a letter by mail, a confirmation of the delivery of the letter to the addressee will be returned to you by the notification.
7
After sending the letter, wait for the answer, which according to the law must be given within a month from the day the mayor receives the letter.
