A prayer to be performed at night after the fifth obligatory is called prayer vitr. The Messenger of the Almighty (peace be upon him) performed this prayer after Isha (obligatory nightly worship) at different times of the night. Like the evening maghrib, they read a prayer vitr in three rakagatas. Reading prayer vitra is a wajib (obligatory).

This prayer is read in the same way as the rest. However, in the third raqgaht, after reading the Al-Fatih surah and after it a short surah, takbir is again pronounced with a show of hands as at the beginning of the prayer. After that, the hands are again placed as usual (women on the chest, and men under the navel), the duet “Kunut” is read, and this worship ends like all - attahiyat, salavat and salam in both directions. Here is the main difference between this type of prayer from others.
It is advisable to read in the initial first rakagate after Al-Fatih surah Al-Al (Almighty), in the second ragagata surah “Kafirun” (Infidels) in the third “Ihlas” (Sincerity). From Ubay ibn Kagba (peace be upon him) it is transmitted that the Prophet himself (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) read this way. It is also known from other hadiths that he read the suras "Ihlas" (Sincerity), "Falak" (Dawn) and "Us" (People). This is sunnah. You can read other suras at will. The prayer itself is read only to oneself, the duo “Kunut”, too.
In the holy month of Ramadan, Vitr is read after an imam with a jamaat (community) after Tarawih prayer. In addition to the prayer of Vitr, the dua Kunut is recited when people are in danger. In this case, the imam reads the dua Kunut after a bow, and asks Allah Almighty for help to believers and asks for curses on his enemies.
