Many people notice only the negative that happens to them in life. They focus on what they don’t have. They forget to thank the Lord. Whatever emotions you have, thank God for all that he has given you.

Instruction manual
1
Think about what has been and is good in your life. People do not pay attention to what they already have in this life. Some citizens complain that they do not have a big house, although they own an apartment. Others, for various reasons, remain homeless. Everyone wants to eat something tasty, forgetting about the starving.
2
Thank God in your own words if you do not know special prayer. After that, cross three times with the words: "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." If you are surrounded by people, just say to yourself: "Thank you, Lord!" According to the Orthodox faith, Christians should thank the Lord for everything. It happens that something bad happens in life. The Orthodox believe that God sends trials so that a person repents of his sins and embarks on the path of correction.
3
Read the Psalter, a book that is part of the Bible. It contains 150 songs, many of which are dedicated to the thanksgiving of the Lord. Reading this holy book will strengthen you spiritually.
4
Go to any Orthodox church. Buy a candle from church servants and place it in front of the Savior icon. As a rule, this image is placed on the right in front of the altar. If you don’t know the prayers, buy a prayer book in the church shop. This is a book in which there are prayers for different occasions. In the temple there are special boxes for alms. Put there as much money as you see fit. This money will go towards rebuilding the temple, buying church utensils, etc. In this way, you will thank God.
5
in the temple a thanksgiving service. This is a special service in which the priest reads special prayers to the Lord. Write on a piece of paper the names of those from whom it will be committed.
6
Do any good deed, because this is the best gratitude. Give money to the beggar, feed the hungry dog, help your relatives.
