Many of us were faced with the need to send a parcel to our friends or acquaintances living in another city. However, in the work of the Russian Post there are many nuances that significantly complicate the life of beginners.
You will need
- things to be sent; - money (from 200 to 1500 rubles, depending on the volume and weight of the parcel); - name and full address of the recipient (including zip code); - pen blue or black; - passport.
Instruction manual
1
Go to the nearest post office of Russia. It is advisable to choose the time up to 18 hours, otherwise you can get stuck in a long line. Upon entering the department, find the parcel post and go to it.
2
A box stand is usually located near the parcel dispatch point. Estimate the volume of your belongings and choose a box of the appropriate size.
3
When it is your turn, ask the mail officer to give you a box and a form to send the package. When sending cash on delivery, also ask for the cash on delivery form.
If you get the box unassembled, ask them to assemble it so that you do not waste your time on this useless process. Go to the nearest table, sit comfortably and start filling out documents. Here you will need a handle prepared in advance.
4
Fill out the form for sending the parcel (see photo). Pay attention to the following features:
- Name and address of the recipient must be specified twice;
- the amount of cash on delivery (if it is not equal to zero) cannot be lower than the amount of declared value;
- in the upper field “To” it is not necessary to indicate the middle name, and in the lower field it is desirable to indicate;
- do not fill in the "Weight" field, this is required to be done by the mail employee.
5
Fill out the form on the box. Here you need to specify the same information as in the form: data about the sender and recipient, estimated cost and amount of cash on delivery.
6
Fill out the cash on delivery form (for cash on delivery only). The main feature is that you indicate yourself in the To field, because you are the recipient of the money, and your recipient is the sender.
In the upper part of the form, where a lot of horizontal stripes are drawn, write the amount of cash on delivery in words, for example, “two thousand three hundred seventy rubles 18 kopecks”.
7
Put things in a box and close it. Go to the point of sending parcels and wait for your turn. Hand the parcel and documents to the mail officer - he will check the completed forms, weigh the parcel, stick it with tape, put it in his database and tell you the total amount (including the cost of the box). After payment, the mail officer will give you a check with a tracking number.
note
The queue at the post office often causes difficulties - some people stand in line to receive a box, and then they try to send it out of turn, others - on the contrary. This is due to the fact that no one wants to wait in line 2 times in a row. Therefore, if you need to send parcels from time to time - stock up on boxes and forms to fill them at home and not stand in line 2 times.
Useful advice
On the check issued by the mail officer, you can find the tracking number of the parcel, consisting of 14 digits. You can enter it on the Russian Post website to find out where your package is currently located.
