Childhood
October 5, 1961 in the city of Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk region, Irina Metlitskaya was born. She had to survive the divorce of her parents and the move with her mother to Minsk. There, the girl graduates from high school. At that time, Irina showed a genuine interest in physics and mathematics.
According to the mother, in the collective, the daughter behaved detachedly and did not take part in school activities. She preferred studying natural sciences to her peers. It is likely that this attitude of Irina can be fully explained by the nomadic way of life that she had to lead - for 8 years her mother rented apartments one by one.
First movie experience
By chance, the Soviet director Igor Dobrolyubov came to their class. He was in search of interesting guys for a role in the film "Schedule for the Day after Tomorrow", which talked about the everyday life of students of a physical and mathematical institution.
Irina immediately caught my eye. Among her peers, she stood out for her bright appearance and serious look over the years. She was offered to play the role of Katie Shumeyko, and the future actress agreed.
This incident predetermined further creative fate. Having entered the special physics and mathematics school, Irina studied for only a year and went to Moscow to conquer the acting Olympus. She entered the Shchukin school, where she studied with Yevgeny Dvorzhetsky and Elena Kazarinova.
Theatrical stage and cinema in the life of Metlitskaya
Metlitskaya successfully graduates from college and continues to try her hand at acting in the troupe of the Sovremennik Theater, where she was enrolled in her fourth year. The theater gave her many memorable roles in well-known productions: The Steep Route, The Little Devil, Stars in the Morning Sky. She was noticed by Oleg Tabakov, and then by Roman Viktyuk, in whom she shone in the performances of Lolita and Madame Butterfly in the early 90s.
Along with the theater, cinema also firmly entered the life of the actress. In her filmography there are a number of famous films: “The personal file of Judge Ivanova, ” “Not subject to disclosure, ” “Ransom, ” “Earthly Joys.” The drama "Doll" (1988) is a special painting for Metlitskaya. It was the image of the class teacher that became for the actress the first main role in several years.
