Ilyas Yesenberlin is a famous Kazakh writer and poet. Before his works in Kazakh literature there were no books about the history of the people of the pre-Mongol era. The writer is recognized as the most published author of Kazakhstan. His books "Nomads", "Golden Horde", "Aisha", "Sultan" are in almost every house of the republic.

A difficult way to vocation
Ilyas Yesenberlin was born into the family of a carpenter in Atbasar in 1915, January 10. There were four children in the family. From an early age, the boy absorbed popular culture. To a large extent, Kazakh akyn Kakbai influenced the future writer.
He was aware of many traditions, poems and songs. At domra, he played them for long hours. The boy lost his parents early. The children remaining on someone else’s provision had a hard time. The only entertainment for them was the stories of Ilyas, whom he knew a lot. The narrator of the guy was wonderful.
Having once won the fair fight, the boy received a cash prize. Finally, the family was able to arrange a real holiday for themselves. The famous writer remembered this day as one of the brightest in his biography. Soon the family broke up. Ilyas ended up in a local orphanage. Children rarely saw each other.
Two years later, Esenberlin graduated from elementary school and went to continue his education in Kyzyl-Orda. The future writer entered the mining department of the mining and metallurgical institute of the then republican capital. A student with excellent mathematical abilities drew attention to himself. He perfectly analyzed and systematized. They did not stand aside and his knowledge of Kazakh folklore.
Literary activity
The young man was fond of world classics, wonderful painted. The young man quickly became respected and popular among classmates.
In 1937, student Esenberlin became a delegate to the first Congress of the Council of Kazakhstan. In 1940 he graduated from college and went to work in Dzhezkazgan. After being drafted from there into the army, the future famous prose writer and poet was sent to Riga to study. There, Ilyas found war. By the end of 1943, a seriously wounded soldier was sent to the Kostroma hospital.
After returning to Alma-Ata, Esenberlin began managing the literary department at the local drama theater. In 1949 he worked as director of the Philharmonic. Twice Ilyas was arrested on slander. If for the first time everything worked out, then the second charge cost him the years spent on the construction of the Karakum Canal.
The rehabilitated figure moved with his wife Dilyara to the Semipalatinsk region. Four children appeared in the writer's family: three daughters and a son.
Esenberlin began as a poet. The poems “Sultan” and “Aisha” were published in 1934. Four years later, the collection of Tales of Daulet, the essay Tragedy of Birzhan-Sar, was published.
Yesenbayev wrote over forty songs. In 1967, the novel "Dangerous Crossing" about the difficult fate of the Kazakh intelligentsia was released. In 1977, a collection of poems "Stars" was released. After the publication of the novel "Fight", the young author was talked about as a new talent. Esenberlin was awarded the Abay Prize. The young writer headed the publishing house "Zhazushi".
