The future mixed martial arts fighter was born in the village of Goksuv (Dagestan) on November 4, 1986. Rustam dreamed of a fighter career as a child. But there were no sports sections nearby. The boy practiced blows on a punching bag, which he himself made from an old bag.
Rustam received his education at the Makhachkala Automobile and Road College. In the same period, he began to seriously engage in martial arts. His first mentor was Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. In a short time Rustam achieved high sports results, becoming the world and country champion in combat sambo.
Mixed Martial Arts Career
The first meeting in the ring in the mixed style Khabilov held in 2007, defeating Bagautdin Abasov. In subsequent years, Rustam managed to win eleven consecutive victories.
