From the biography of Alexei Gorbunov
Actor Alexey Sergeyevich Gorbunov was born in the capital of Ukraine on October 29, 1961. As a child, he loved to play war. All day Alexey disappeared in the yard. Films about the Great Patriotic War made a great impression on the future actor.
Alex spent a lot of time at the stadium, watching the training of famous football players. Growing up, the young man became interested in farcical: he resold jeans, changed chewing gum to badges. Over time, his desire to go abroad grew stronger. He hated the communists and often argued hoarsely with his father, discussing politics.
The beginning of the creative path
Already at school age, Gorbunov dreamed of devoting his life to creativity. In 1978, he graduated from high school and decided to enter the Kiev Theater Institute. However, the applicant was refused admission. One of the reasons was the lack of a Komsomol ticket for the young man: he was not a member of the Komsomol.
To join the world of creativity, Gorbunov got a job at the Lesya Ukrainka Theater. Here, the famous young Ada Rogovtseva drew attention to a young auxiliary worker. She introduced the guy to her husband Konstantin Stepankov, a teacher at the theater institute. An experienced teacher immediately noted that the young man has acting talent and extraordinary abilities. Stepankov contributed to the admission of Alexei to the Kiev State Institute of Theater Arts, and then determined the young man to his course.
In 1984, Gorbunov became the holder of a diploma of higher theater education. And on the same day, he began shooting in the film "Cargo without marking." Debut work brought the actor success. He began to be invited to other projects. True, the young actor at first got the supporting roles.
In 1985, Alexei went to serve in the army. Two years later, he retired to the reserve and again began filming. He played several major roles in the films, which were not successful with the viewer. At one time, the actor was left almost without a livelihood. To improve matters, Gorbunov temporarily left the acting profession and worked as a taxi driver. In the 90s, only one role brought popularity to the actor: he played Chico with great skill in the series "Countess de Monsoro".
The path to the heights of acting
The difficulties of the 90s did not break the will of Gorbunov. As a result, he became one of the leading actors in Russia and Ukraine. His most successful projects are: Piranha Hunt, Bourgeois's Birthday, State Counselor, Swordsman, Red Chapel.
Alexey Gorbunov worked with many prominent masters of domestic cinema. Among his partners are Mikhail Efremov, Vladimir Mashkov, Konstantin Khabensky, Nikita Mikhalkov. However, the actor understands that success can be momentary. He does not like to boast about his achievements in the field of cinema.
