Hamid Hamidov has done a lot for his native Dagestan. He headed financial structures for several years and led the ministry of finance of the republic. Hamidov’s activity aroused rejection by those who wanted to shake stability in Dagestan. In 1996, the politician was the victim of an assassination attempt: he died in the explosion of a car stuffed with a glove.

The future Russian statesman and public figure was born in the village of Mekegi (Dagestan) on June 6, 1954. By nationality, Hamidov is a Dargin. From his youth, Hamid went in for sports, becoming a master in a serious sport - freestyle wrestling. Good physical training subsequently greatly helped Hamidov to withstand a busy labor rhythm.
After the end of the army service, Hamidov graduated: he graduated from Dagestan State University, where he studied at the Faculty of Economics. The nature of the future politician and prominent economist was laid precisely in his young years.

In the early 90s, Hamidov gained fame in society, becoming the founder of the "Elbin Bank" commercial structure. After some time, Hamid Mustafayevich headed the Main Directorate of the Central Bank of the country for the Republic of Dagestan. Two years later, he became the head of the republican branch of Sberbank of Russia.
At the end of 1994, Hamidov was elected to the lower house of the first parliament of the Russian parliament. In the Duma, he was a member of the Russian Regions group. He took part in the work of the Duma committee on taxes, budget, banks and finance. In the spring of 1996, Hamidov was appointed Minister of Finance of Dagestan. For this reason, he resigned from his parliamentary powers.
Hamidov was engaged in active social activities. He became one of the organizers of the Islamic Fund, engaged in charity work. Hamidov headed the Boxing Federation, as well as the Federation of Freestyle Wrestling of the Republic of Dagestan, was president of the Makhachkala football club Dynamo.
Hamidov is the author of a training manual on banking.
