Galimov Alexander Saidgereevich - a famous Russian hockey player. He played as a right-handed striker in the hockey club Lokomotiv. He died in a plane crash on September 7, 2011.

Biography
The future hockey player was born in May 1985 on the second day in the Russian city of Yaroslavl. From an early age, Alexander was a very active child, he also loved various game sports. Since there is a very good hockey academy in Yaroslavl, the parents decided to send their child to this sport. For the first time, Alexander started skating at the age of five; from that moment on, she practically did not leave the ice.
Career
The progress of the energetic youth was obvious, and soon he became a key figure in the team of his age, Lokomotiv-85. In this composition, the sports team three times became the champion of the country in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Sergey’s contribution was so great that the club’s management decided to transfer the talented player to the double of the adult Lokomotiv-2 team, which played in the first league. At the end of the season, the team won the championship, and Alexander added another trophy to his asset.
Two years later, Galimov was transferred to the main staff of Lokomotiv. Until 2008, the club played in the Russian Super League, the country's main tournament. In 2008, the Continental Hockey League was created, which included the best clubs of the representative countries. HC Lokomotiv also entered the list from the Russian side. In the very first year of the league’s creation, the club from Yaroslavl managed to climb the prize podium; according to the results of the tournament, Lokomotiv players received silver medals. The following year, 2009, “Loco” was again in the top three, but again it was not enough before the championship and the winners repeated last year’s result.
International performances
Galimov played for the youth teams of the Russian national team. In 2005, at the World Championships, the guys from the national team won silver medals. In 2009, Alexander was first announced to the main team. Karjala Galimov spent three matches in the cup. In total, Andrei had nine matches for the country's main team.
