Belarusian composer Yevgeny Glebov is called one of the founders of the modern republican composer school. The conductor and teacher was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR.
Musical evenings of improvisation were constantly held in the house of Yevgeny Aleksandrovich's parents. Relatives played beautifully on various instruments, sang. The atmosphere of creativity has significantly affected the child. He became interested in music early.
Way to Vocation
The biography of the future composer began in 1929. He was born in the town of Roslavl on September 10 in the family of a railwayman. On his own, the boy learned to play the mandolin, mastered the guitar, balalaika. Having become more adult, he began to compose muses of works.
Despite the love of art, parents did not support the desire of their son, who chose a passion for life,. They assured him that the profession should provide confidence in the future. Eugene gave way. He continued his education after school at the local technical school of railway transport. During study, the student led the orchestra and choir.
A graduate began to work in Mogilev. But even during a tense and very difficult exhausting work, he did not stop dreaming of a musical career. Since Glebov did not receive a special musical education, the commission decided on an exam at the Mogilev school that he could not become a student without special training.
The famous cymbalist Zhinovich helped the talented self-taught person. He considered the young man's talent and recommended taking the gifted self-taught person to the Republican State Conservatory. Glebov began training in it in 1950. He was educated at the composer faculty. At first, the guy had a hard time, his knowledge base in the chosen profession turned out to be disastrously small.
Mastering the piano was especially difficult. Perseverance overcame all obstacles. Eugene was appointed inspector of the choir of the conservatory. At the graduation concert, the student amazed everyone with a virtuoso performance of Grieg's work.
Confession
Composed during the years of training Gleb enthusiastically and a lot. He wrote the symphonic poem Masheka, a fantasy for piano and orchestra. The author’s personality was clearly visible in the work. Flexibility and intonation melody perfectly combined with the expressiveness of the orchestral coloring.
After graduating from the conservatory, Glebov created the ballet Dream and Polesie Suite. Towards the end of the sixties, many new masterpieces appeared. The songs of the young author sounded on the stage, his music accompanied performances and films. Particularly notable were the ballet Chosen One, Alpine Ballad and the Fourth Symphony.
In the seventies, work was completed on the new ballet Til Uhlenshpigel. The composer wrote oratorios, suites on poems by national poets, created choreographic compositions, vocal miniatures. All works were distinguished by the ideal style.
The result of his thoughts on the topic of childhood was the ballet The Little Prince and the oratorio Invitation to the Country of Childhood. Together with Glebov, she worked on the creation of the libretto of his wife. The works largely determined the philosophical orientation of creativity. The Little Prince acted as a kind of bridge to the opera Master and Margarita. She and the Sixth Symphony turned into perfect bearers of the composer's creative ideas at a later time.
Time to create
Genre music has always been central to the musician. He made his debut Fantasy on two Belarusian themes. Behind her were created Concertino for orchestra and cymbals, "Festive Poem", "Festive Overture." In each essay, the technical capabilities of folk instruments were manifested to the maximum.
The author worked very fruitfully in the song field. For the stage, he wrote in his youth. His authorship belongs to White Sail, Golden Autumn, and Night Stagecoach. Fantasy on the theme of the folk song "Quail" is very interesting. The composer did not disregard domestic cinema.
He created melodies for the films "Last Summer of Childhood", "Amnesty", "Wild Hunt of King Stach", "Beloved". The famous name of Glebov was also outside of Belarus. His compositions sounded in the productions of many theater groups, sounded by orchestras.
