One of the most odious personalities of modern Russian theater, cinema and television - Vladimir Georgievich Epifantsev - followed in the footsteps of his father, who instilled innovative ideas in the culture and art of our country back in Soviet times. In his acting, he is better known for his characters from the underworld or the number of law enforcement advocates, but in both cases they have a kind of bewitching and unforgettable charm.

Vladimir Epifantsev, a popular actor, director, TV presenter and video maker with a pleasant, memorable appearance and unique charisma, became an active follower of the traditions of the European experimental theater in our country and even succeeded very much in this endeavor. After graduating from the Shchukin Theater School with a degree in actor and directing department of GITIS, this famous artist today creates not only talented characters, but also projects demanded by the audience.
Biography and career of Vladimir Georgievich Epifantsev
On September 8, 1971, the future idol of millions of domestic fans was born into a Moscow artistic family (father is a famous Moscow theater and film actor, and mother is an economist and theater artist). Since childhood, Vova was perfectly adapted to the theatrical stage, since in three years the boy was brought to his native Moscow Art Theater named after A.P. Chekhov by his father.
However, the violent temper of a teenager and a young man who lived in a not so quiet area of Moscow (Tushino) and who was reputed to be a rebel with long hair and listening to Western rock music repeatedly brought him to the police children's room. It was the willpower and suggestion of the parents that made him go in for sports and “tied up with a litter”.
After graduating from high school, Epifantsev Jr. went to a school for working youth and worked for two years at a factory. And then there was “Pike” (course of Vladimir Ivanov), since he was not accepted into his native Moscow Art Theater School because of his innovator-father, who provoked a negative reaction from the leadership of that time. In 1994, Vladimir, with a diploma of acting qualifications from his first university, transferred to GITIS, where he received a second thematic education at the faculty of directing from Peter Fomenko.
An interesting fact is the situation that arose in 2008 at the Phoenix Film, when Epifantsev refused to participate in the continuation of the filming of Two of the Casket, substantiating his decision with living conditions at the production site. By the decision of the Khoroshevsky court of Moscow, he paid huge compensation as a forfeit, for which he had to sell the capital's apartment and car.
In parallel with his studies at GITIS, Epifantsev organized his Prok-Theater theater project, using the abandoned premises of the cardboard factory. Since 1994, the number of his theatrical projects has been steadily growing, among which the ambiguous reactions are caused by the productions: “Jesus Cried”, “Plague Ball”, “Romeo and Juliet”. Playing always in the main roles in his performances, Vladimir won huge popularity among the audience because of the avant-garde approach to art.
Debut on television at Epifantsev took place in 1997 with the program "Sandman", where he became the host. And then there were popular for their time "Muzoboz", "Cultivator" and "Like a movie." It was in the latest project in tandem with Maxim Drozd on the NTV channel that each separate issue of the sensational documentary cycle was illustrated by extreme situations when people, overcoming deadly conditions, saved their own and others' lives.
In 1999, Vladimir Epifantsev first declared himself in the cinema as an actor in the Green Elephant art-house project. And then a series of successful film works followed, where he presented to the audience in characteristic characters: “Border. Taiga novel” (2000), “Turetsky March” (2002), “Antikiller 2: Anti-terror” (2003), “Mom, Do not Cry 2 "(2005), " Lucky "(2006), " Invincible "(2008), " Escape "(2010), " Generation P "(2011), " Flint "(2012), " Fierce "(2013), " Killer whale "(2014), " Capture "(2015), " My alien "(2015), " Elastico "(2016), " Children for rent "(2017), " Indestructible "(2018), " New man "(2018).
The actor’s latest film works include his characters in the series Black Dog and the comedy All or Nothing.
