John Mitchell is an American actor and director. He also writes screenplays. The audience is known for his role in the musical "Hedwig and the Miserable Inch." Later, he played in the film adaptation of this musical play.

Biography and personal life
The full name of the actor is John Cameron Mitchell. He was born on April 21, 1963 in El Paso in Texas. John grew up in the family of a retired major general in the US Army. The actor’s mother emigrated from Scotland. She worked as a teacher. Mitchell's childhood took place at military bases. John was educated at a Catholic school. From the time of apprenticeship, Mitchell became interested in theater.
In 1981, John entered Northwestern University. Upon completion, he played in Broadway productions. In parallel, Mitchell received small roles in films and TV shows.
